Thanks to my co-worker who pointed me to a really cool utility that uses rsync to provide TimeMachine-like backups.
The utility is called rsnapshot and is based “on an article called Easy Automated Snapshot-Style Backups with Linux and Rsync, by Mike Rubel”.
